Our Story

Tucked away in a narrow alleyway in Nabaa, one of Beirut’s most impoverished areas, is a 2‐story building that houses Ayadina Association. It started as a singlehanded effort many years ago when Maya Najjar, Founder and President, saw the staggering challenges stacked against this impoverished community and began to help out any way she could. Soon, her dedication inspired others, creating a socio-cultural NGO with a mission to empower children and youth through arts education and provide underprivileged youth and senior citizens with an opportunity to gather around a hot meal.

Today, Ayadina Association provides children and youth with rich art workshops and a dynamic environment that nurtures their imagination and sets free their creativity, inspiring today’s generation to dream, grow, and lead their communities into a better future.

Senior citizens are offered a full program that embraces their basic needs and provides them with the opportunity to socialize and enjoy a sense of belonging.

We believe that changing one person’s life has a positive ripple effect on an entire community.  By opening up opportunities at the association, hope trickles outward nourishing every home in every corner of the community.

Today, more than 200 children and 70 senior citizens call Ayadina their second home.

Ayadina Association welcomes all without discrimination, supporting both local and refugee communities.
